Jumps Horses to Follow (Racecards menu → Horses to Follow) is one list for the whole jumps season: every British and Irish jumps horse whose handicap mark rose 7lb or more last season and which won or placed on its last run of that season. The rise is measured within one code, a hurdles mark against a hurdles mark and a chase mark against a chase mark. The 2026/27 list has 232 horses.
Why those horses: over seven seasons (2018/19 to 2024/25, each followed into the next) they won 16.4% of their races the following season and returned a profit of 16.9% at Betfair SP after 2% commission, in six seasons of the seven. Each half on its own does nothing: a horse still improving but out of form, or in form but not improving, did no better than any other.
What is on the page
- One line per horse: its trainer (and its old one if it has moved yards), its mark at the start and end of last season, its last run of last season, and its current RaceMetrics Rating. A Class 1-2 tag marks the horses whose last run was in a Class 1 or 2 race, the stronger half in the history.
- This season: how many times it has run and won. Click a line for every run, with its finishing position and Betfair SP.
- Next: its next declared run, or its 5-day or 4-day entry before the declarations, linked to the racecard.
- The list's record at the top: winners from runs this season, points of profit or loss and A/E at Betfair SP (1.00 = par), counting every runner on the list, winners and losers alike.
- How it was found tab: the rule, the record season by season, and what the market already prices in.
- Fell last time tab: the 30 highest-rated horses whose last run of last season ended in a fall, unseat, slip or brought down. In the same history those horses lost money the following season in all seven seasons.
- Filters: Class 1-2 only, entered or declared, run this season, British or Irish yards, and a horse or trainer search.
Every winner from the list is posted on our social accounts once it has weighed in, with the list's record to date.

The full list is part of RaceMetrics Enterprise, RaceMetrics Pro and Proform Premium. Every other signed-in member sees the first ten horses and the list's record.
It is a list to follow and test, not a set of tips: the profit in the history leans on bigger-priced winners, so expect long losing runs.
