RaceMetrics now accepts imported rating sets. If you maintain ratings in a spreadsheet, model or other software, you can upload them as a CSV file and put them to work across the platform.
How to import
Open the My Ratings panel on any racecard and select "add a scale". Alongside the computed scales, you will find the option to import your own ratings. Name your set once — it then behaves like any other scale you own.
The file format is straightforward: a header row naming date, time, course, horse and rating. Decimals or whole numbers are both accepted; any extra columns are ignored.
Before import, every line is checked against the declared runners, race by race and horse by horse. A match report shows exactly what happened — flagging any mismatches by line number and reason so you can correct the file and re-import at any time. Re-importing safely replaces the figures for those races only.
On the racecard and My Card
Once imported, your ratings appear in the My column on the racecard with ranks worked out automatically from your figures. When a non-runner is declared, ranks adjust across the board.
Switch to My Card and your ratings sit alongside the columns you have already built, together with the RaceMetrics Rating for direct comparison.
In the System Builder
Your imported history unlocks the full research toolkit. The Qualifiers tab lists every race where your figures rank a runner first — showing your rating and rank alongside the official rating and the Power Rating. You can back-test over the period your file covers, measuring strike rate, returns at Betfair starting price, significance, market edge and out-of-sample hold-up. Break results down by your own rating bands or by rank in the race.
Availability
Imported rating sets are included with Proform Premium. Imported sets live alongside the computed scales and share the same three-active-sets allowance, and each holds up to 400,000 ratings.
