Random %

The baseline win probability if all horses had equal chance. Calculated as 100 ÷ field size.

Place% & Each-Way Terms

Estimated probability of finishing in a place position, derived from Win% using Harville approximation. Each-way terms adjust automatically based on field size.

4 or fewer runners = win only (no place betting).

Exclude Runner (Excl)

Tick the Excl checkbox to remove a runner from the Win% and Place% calculations. Useful for seeing adjusted probabilities without the favourite or a non-contender. Exclusions are remembered per race within your session.

Win%, Place%, and EW terms all recalculate based on remaining runners.

HHI (Market Concentration)

The Herfindahl-Hirschman Index measures how concentrated the betting market is around favourites.

HP (High Performers)

Count of connections rated 1550+ (out of 6). Gold dots indicate high-rated connections.

Weighted average of all connection ratings:

• Owner: 20%

H (Horse Rating)

The horse's own RaceMetrics rating based on past performance. Higher K-factor (40) means ratings change faster to reflect current form.

What Wins

Discover profitable patterns by analysing historical performance across all runners in a race. Shows which participant + condition combinations have outperformed expectations.

IV (Impact Value):

Trip Fit & Best Fits

Trip Fit shows how well today's race conditions match each runner's optimal trip profile (going-by-surface, distance, class, surface). Best Fits is a dedicated view that ranks the field by fit.

The Trip Fit column appears in Ratings, At-a-Glance and Form Expert (horse view) between Score and the next data column. Click-to-sort on Ratings view.
Stars - filled = matching dim, empty (☆) = non-matching. Score shown as matched / counted e.g. 3/4.
★★★★ emerald = every counted dim matches (100%, e.g. 4/4)
★★★☆ cyan = most match (66%+, e.g. 3/4 or 2/3)
★★☆☆ amber = some match (40%+, e.g. 2/4)
★☆☆☆ gray = few or none (under 40%)
Hover - tooltip shows per-dim breakdown (today vs optimal) plus trend and runs.
"low conf" - no dim reaches med+ confidence (sample too small).
"no data" - horse has too few runs to compute a profile.
Sort tip: Rank badges (gold/silver/bronze) stay on the Combined-Rating top 3 even when you sort by Trip Fit. So if the gold #1 horse drops to row 6 after a Trip Fit sort, that's the rating top pick but a poor conditions match.
The Best Fits view ranks runners by trip fit:
• Top 3 with gold/silver/bronze rank badges — here the badges DO reflect Trip Fit (unlike the Ratings view above)
• Per-dim match details inline (✓/✗ for each counted dim)
• Trend arrows: ↗ improving · → peak · ↘ declining · ? unknown
• Runners with insufficient data listed separately at the foot
Confidence gating: A dimension only counts toward the fit score if its optimal pick has at least med confidence. Low-confidence picks (3-5 runs) appear in the tooltip for context but don't drive the score — this stops small-sample flukes producing misleading green badges.
Going by surface: When today's race is on Turf, the fit checks the horse's optimal turf going. On Polytrack/Tapeta, it checks the per-AW-surface optimal — these are kept distinct because horses can prefer one synthetic surface over the other.

Print My Card

On the My Card tab (Enterprise), click Print next to Customise to print one race — or a tick-box selection of the whole day's races — using your active layout, with a choice of form lines under each runner. The print dialog opens pre-set to A4 landscape in full colour; pick "Save as PDF" as the destination to create a colour PDF instead. The Sectional form-line view needs the Sectionals add-on.
